Are you making a difference? (And can you show it?)

DESCRIPTION

An interactive workshop (with coffee and biscuits) to share and hear experiences of designing projects and proving that they work.

 

Who is it for?

Staff and volunteers from voluntary, community or social enterprise organisations (the VCSE or charity sector) who are involved in designing and monitoring projects that improve health and wellbeing.

 

This workshop will cover:

Knowing that what you do works - ways of measuring impact and where to go to find these tools.

Learning how to find out what has worked for others.

How to attract and keep funding through evaluation.

 

Sessions:

1. NICE (National Institute for Health and Care Excellence) - what they do and how they can help you. Chris Connell, Associate Director of the NICE Field Team, and Jane Jacobi, Implementation Facilitator of the NICE Field Team.


2. How are people in the VCSE sector using Evidence Based Practice to improve the health and wellbeing of older people? Katie Currie, Public Health Principal, Bristol City Council, NICE Scholar.


3. Not wasting your time doing things that we know don't work. What Evidence Based Practice is and isn't. Andrea Dickens, Programme Manager, BNSSG Knowledge and Intelligence Collaborative.


4. Evaluating in the real world - Why is it useful to know if your project is making a difference? Practical tools for evaluation and the opportunity to share your experiences of designing projects and proving that they work. Claire Chivers, Learning & Monitoring Officer, Bristol Ageing Better.
