BAB September Partnership MeetingLocation: Tony Benn House, Victoria Street, Bristol BS1 6AY
Time: 10am - 12.30pm
The BAB Partnership meeting is open to representatives from all BAB partners and is a fantastic opportunity to get up to date with the programme's activities, find out about recent work done by partners and network with other organisations or individuals with an interest in reducing isolation and loneliness of over 50s.
This time the partnership meeting will take the format of an unconference.
WHAT IS AN UNCONFERENCE?
It is a gathering where you create the content for the day. Unlike the usual conference format with pre-arranged topics and speakers, an unconference is much more open. It is co-created by everyone in the room.
Nobody can predict what the end result will be as you have the freedom to create the partnership meeting that you want.
WHAT WILL HAPPEN?
Anyone is welcome to suggest a topic to discuss. There will be a chance to explain your idea on the day and hear other people’s suggestions. There will then be a vote to pick the most popular topics.
Once the topics have been picked, they will be split across two rounds of discussion. The person who suggested the topic facilitates that discussion! Simple.
In total, everyone will be able to attend two discussion topics, each lasting 25 minutes.
WHAT DO I NEED TO DO?
Is there a topic you would like to discuss? Advice you would like from others? Experiences you would like to compare? Unconferences work best when there are as many topic suggestions as possible so please do put your idea forward!
Before the day, brainstorm whether you have a topic that you would like to facilitate a 25-minute discussion about. If so, we will ask you to briefly describe it (in no more than 30 seconds) on the day so that others can hear your idea.
If attendees vote for your topic you will then facilitate that discussion for other attendees.
Arrival and refreshments are from 10:00 with the unconference beginning at 10:30. It will finish at 12:30 with a free lunch provided afterwards.
If you have any questions, or access/dietary requirements please email firstname.lastname@example.org or phone 0117 928 1539.
We look forward to seeing what we will co-create together!
