Age Friendly Charter LaunchLocation: Central Library, College Green, BS1 5TL
Time: 2pm - 4pm
As mentioned before in previous updates, Bristol Ageing Better is creating an Age Friendly Charter for Bristol. Our goal is to highlight the 9 overarching visions that we see for the city as a whole. These visions have been created from numerous focus groups and consultations with older people in the city to determine what the main priorities are for areas of change in the city.
From this Charter, Bristol Ageing Better will be creating an overall Action Plan that will help us to capture all of the great work that is currently happening in Bristol to make it a city that is great to grow old in. Furthermore, this Action Plan will allow us to identify where there are gaps and what needs to be done to address these.
We will be launching this Age Friendly Charter on Wednesday 21st June at 2pm at the Central Library. During this event, you can expect some introductions and speeches from a few members of the BAB team as well as some guest speakers. Additionally, you will have the chance to learn what some local groups are currently doing to make their part of the city more Age Friendly and how this fits into our Charter and Action Plan. Additional information and questions will be posed to the group at this time such as;
1. What are you already doing to improve an aspect of the city for older people
2. What can you offer to do going forward
3. What is your ask from decision makers in order to assist your offer.
There will be chances for you to network and gather ideas on how you will be able to make Bristol a more Age Friendly City bearing in mind the above questions.
