Loneliness Summit - BristolLocation: City Hall, College Green, BS1 5TR
Time: 10am - 4pm
Bristol Ageing Better's (BAB's) second Summit supports the work of the Jo Cox Commission on Loneliness with Age UK England to raise awareness of the impact of loneliness on people and communities. Recognising they are at great risk, the Commission is focusing on reducing loneliness amongst older people in April, but the campaign runs throughout 2017 and encourages action across all ages.
Please note: As places are limited, this event is by invitation/booking request and confirmation only - we will email you to confirm your reservation.
This Summit has been timed to link up with the emphasis on older people throughout April, but will bring together people who are committed to raising awareness about the effects of loneliness on people of all ages and on communities. The aim is, in the words of Jo Cox MP to look together at how we can 'turbo charge the public's awareness of the silent epidemic of loneliness and start a high profile public conversation' to inform government policy and encourage people and communities to think about what they can do on a daily basis.
The Summit aims to be as interactive as possible, to maximise the time spent together to move this agenda forwards. We will work together on the day, through a mix of presentations, workshops and round table discussions.
