Make a booking to attend the ‘Here We Grow’ launch events. Here We Grow is a hybrid book of words, pictures and sounds, centred around the theme, Age Friendly Bristol. Here We Grow has been lovingly shaped and crafted together by older people from Bristol and No Bindings.

No Bindings is a social publishing project which was started in Bristol by Lily Green, a multimedia artist. Lily is a resident of the Pervasive Media Studio at the Watershed. She makes sound recordings and handmade books, which together form publication-podcasts.

BAB collaborated with No Bindings to explore the question, ‘What makes a city the kind of place where you can grow older and be an older person?’.

No Bindings called upon older artists and writers across the city to provide creative answers to this question. On top of this, Lily joined forces with Pat Gregory, a member of BAB’s steering group. Equipped with a dictaphone, the duo collected interviews and stories about what project leaders and older people had to say about how Age Friendly the city is.

The interviews they conducted were focused around nine projects, that reflect the nine factors that make a city Age Friendly, as laid out in BAB’s Age Friendly Charter.
