Recently, we’ve been working with the Celebrating Age Festival steering group to look at how we can inspire communities to become more Age Friendly in 2017. We’re delighted to announce that we will be dedicating a small pot of money from BAB’s Age Friendly budget to give to groups of people who would like to do something to make their neighbourhood, streets or community spaces more Age Friendly.
We will be giving small grants of up to £250 support innovative ways to make communities more age-friendly – this can take the form of one-off events to encourage people to get to know their community better, or more permanent fixtures that will make a difference to everyone in a particular neighbourhood. We welcome applications from individuals, community groups and charities, and would like to spread the funding as far and wide within the city as possible, so there are no restrictions within the Bristol Local Authority on who can apply.
Whether you would like to hold a giant all-ages tea party in the middle of your street, host a movie night in your local community centre, or just brighten up your neighbourhood by repainting benches and planting some edible gardens for everyone to enjoy, why not apply for some funding to make it happen?
The grants will offer one small grant per project, and a concise application form and assessment criteria will be released soon. If you have any questions about this in the meantime, feel free to get in touch with our Partnership Support Office, Bianca Rossetti, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
