CMFs are the Common Measurement Frameworks by which BAB measures success; they comprise a red form and a blue form which we ask all participants in BAB funded programmes to complete at the beginning and end of their activity, as well as 6 months afterwards.
We collect this anonymised data together with data from the other 14 Ageing Better areas in order to build up an evidence base of what works to reduce isolation and loneliness in older people. This evidence base will then be used to inform future policy and commissioning so that future generations can grow older surrounded by services that are more effective and better planned.
It’s one of the areas that some delivery partners have struggled with, so we’re taking steps to make them easier to understand and give partners the tools that they need to complete them correctly.
In November we ran a very useful training session for staff and volunteers responsible for filling in CMFs – feedback showed that the people who were able to attend found it really useful. In fact, they found it so useful that we’re running it again!
It’s delivered by Hall Aitken and will take place on February 7th at Tony Benn House (BS1 6AY) between 1pm and 4.30pm. At the training we’ll be explaining why the CMFs are so important and talking about ways to fill them in with participants in a way that’s emotionally sensitive.
If you work for a delivery partner and would like to attend, please email Claire at firstname.lastname@example.org to book a place.
As well as the training we’ve scheduled, we’ve also put together some more comprehensive notes on the topic of CMFs, to clarify and provide further instructions. We hope that this further guidance will help you to feel more confident about filling out CMFs and approaching participants to do so.
You’ll find the new guidance for Kickstart and Kickstart Plus projects here, and guidance for everyone else here. If you need clarification on anything else relating to CMFs, you’re always welcome to get in touch with Claire at BAB. You can call on 0117 928 1539 or email email@example.com
