Who We Are
BAB is a partnership of individuals and organisations working together to reduce isolation and loneliness among older people in Bristol.
The Delivery Partners are essential in helping BAB tackle loneliness and isolation in later life across Bristol. We refer to our partners as Delivery Partners when they have been granted BAB funding to deliver on of our projects, whether this is a pilot or a longer term project.
These partners are usually members of the Partnership, a wide spectrum of organisations across Bristol – including statutory, voluntary and commercial organisations. The wider partnership welcomes any organisation or group interested in reducing isolation and loneliness among older people in Bristol, regardless if they have received BAB funding or not. Further information about the Partnership can be found here.
The Programme Management Team at BAB, based at Age UK Bristol, is responsible for awarding payments from a grant provided by the National Lottery Community Fund to these Delivery Partners to run projects in order to achieve the 4 overall programme outcomes of BAB. These projects can be grouped within our 4 themes: Creating the Conditions, Identifying and Informing, Working with Communities, Supporting Individuals.
True to BAB’s key values, older people are highly involved in what outcomes the Delivery Partners achieve. Communication between the delivery partners, as well as sharing of good practice, is encouraged in Delivery Partner meetings arranged by BAB.
By running a BAB funded project, our Delivery Partners contribute to alleviating the loneliness and social isolation currently being experienced by older people in our city, creating an environment in which organisations working with older people can operate effectively and collect evidence around what works, and sharing that information more widely.
